Melinda Gates and her husband, Bill Gates, have agreed to end their marriage, according to multiple reports.

The couple said in a joint statement Monday that they agreed to get divorced, according to Business Insider.

  • “Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives.”
  • “We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives.”

Bill and Melinda Gates started dating back in 1987 after meeting in New York. Melinda worked at Microsoft as General Manager of Information Products. Bill and Melinda Gates were married on Jan. 1, 1994, in Hawaii. Melinda later left Microsoft in 1996 to focus on family, according to TMZ.
