If the second day of the 5A state tournament is as tight as the first day, Tuesday figures to be a very competitive day of golf at Fox Hollow Golf Course.
Olympus holds the Day 1 lead after shooting a 2-over 290, with defending state champion Skyline right behind the Titans wit a 5-over 293.
Timpview, East and Brighton are all within eight strokes of the leader after Day 1.
East junior Sean Lampropoulos was the top individual on Monday as he shot a 5-under 67. Lampropoulos tied for seventh last year and he’ll take a two-stroke lead over Bonneville’s Parker Bunn and Hunter’s Jared McCleary into Day 2.
Lampropoulos shot a 33 on the front and a 34 on the back.
Defending medalist Jackson Shelley of Skyline is within four strokes of the leader after shooting a 1-under 71.
