Henry Cavill’s time as Superman might not be over after all. Cavill is currently in talks to reprise the roles in multiple DC Comics films, according to multiple reports.

What’s happening:

  • On Wednesday night, multiple outlets reported that Cavill is in talks to return as Superman for at least one upcoming DC Comics films.
  • Cavill played Superman in 2013’s “Man of Steel,” 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and 2017’s “Justice League.”
  • Deadline said: “We hear Cavill could come back in a couple of different ways, not a standalone film, but there are plans to put him back in the big red cape again sources with knowledge tell us.”
  • Per Variety, Cavill will likely suit up for a cameo in one of DC Comic’s upcoming films, which include “Aquaman 2,” “The Suicide Squad” and “The Batman.”
  • Other potential films include “Shazam 2” or Dwayne Johnson’s “Black Adam,” which are both DC Comics productions set to begin once the coronavirus pandemic restrictions end, according to Deadline.

Cavill talked about this before, too

  • Cavill told Men’s Health in December that he had not hung up the cape yet.
  • Cavill said: “The cape is still in the closet. It’s still mine. I’m not going to sit quietly in the dark as all the stuff is going on. I’ve not given up the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me. There’s a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You’ll see.”
