SALT LAKE CITY — It has now been more than three months since Utah Gov. Gary Herbert declared a state of emergency in Utah due to the coronavirus pandemic in early March.
Over the past three months, government leaders have encouraged Utahns to limit social gatherings, leave home infrequently, maintain social distance and wear face coverings in public, among other recommendations to slow the spread of COVID-19 as part of Utah’s Health Guidance System at coronavirus.utah.gov.
Most of the state is currently in the low-risk (yellow) phase, with Salt Lake City in the moderate-risk (orange) phase and Kane County in the new normal (green) phase of Utah’s Health Guidance System.
Here are five parody videos that describe life during a pandemic:
‘Some Things Never Change (Even During a Pandemic)’
Utah’s JK! Studios parodies “Some Things Never Change” from “Frozen 2,” singing about how the coronavirus has changed a lot, but some things stay the same.
‘Coronavirus: The Musical’
The Johnson Files, another Utah-based comedy channel, adapts lines from several musicals to fit life during the coronavirus pandemic.
‘Hands, Washing Hands’
The legendary Neil Diamond sings his famous song “Sweet Caroline,” “with updated lyric for safety during Covid-19 pandemic,” according to the YouTube video description.
‘Stayin’ Inside’
The Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” becomes “Stayin’ Inside,” with new words about living in quarantine.
‘Friends’ theme song
The Rembrandts’ “I’ll Be There for You,” also known as the “Friends” theme song, takes on new lyrics for those times when “it’s like you’re always stuck in quarantine.”
