“Star Wars” will be a part of the holiday season this year with the new “The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special,” set to debut on Disney Plus.

What’s going on?

  • “The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special” will debut on Disney Plus beginning on Nov. 17.
  • “Star Wars” legends Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron will return to celebrate Life Day — the Christmas-like holiday introduced in the 1978 classic “Star Wars Holiday Special,” which premiered on Nov. 17, 1978, on CBS.
  • The special will include Lego versions of “Star Wars” characters and pay homage to the 1978 version of the show. The show will include some “Star Wars” movie actors returning for their roles.

What is it about?

  • And it will show events after “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” Rey and BB-8 will visit a Jedi Temple that sends them through time to interact with previous characters from the “Star Wars” universe, including Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda and more, Disney Plus said in a release.
  • Executive producer Josh Rimes said: “It’s a celebration of the saga. A lot of characters will be interacting with different characters and perhaps even different versions of themselves at different ages.”
“Star Wars” and Lego have a solid connection to each other.
