Canadian camouflage company Hyperstealth Biotechnology has developed a new cloak that can make objects look almost invisible to the naked eye, Mashable reports.
- The cloak uses Quantum Stealth technology “to bend light around people or objects,” according to Mashable.
- Right now, the cloak remains in the prototype stage. But the company might eventually use the device for military purposes.
Hyperstealth Biotechnology has filed four patent applications related to this cloak, which is actually called the “Invisibility Cloak.”
- The cloak is “paper-thin and inexpensive,” according to a release. “It can hide a person, a vehicle, a ship, spacecraft and buildings.”
- “One piece of Quantum Stealth can work in any environment, in any season at any time of the day or night, something no other camouflage is capable of.”
And if that’s not enough, Hyperstealth Biotechnology has filed another patent application for a “Display System” that can create holographic images with a power projector.
- “The holodeck from ‘Star Trek’ is one step closer,” the release said.
