Supporters of Democratic Party presidential nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris can now decorate their homes with yard signs in “Animal Crossing,” according to The Verge.

  • The campaign rolled out the virtual yard signs Tuesday.
  • The decision is a part of the ticket’s decision to meet voters online.
  • Gamers can access the signs by scanning a QR code through the Nintendo Switch online app.

Christian Tom, director of digital partnerships for the Biden campaign, explained more about the decision in a statement to The Verge.

  • ‘Animal Crossing’ is a dynamic, diverse, and powerful platform that brings communities together from across the world. It is an exciting new opportunity for our campaign to engage and connect Biden-Harris supporters as they build and decorate their islands. As we enter the final campaign stretch towards November, this is one way we are finding new creative and innovative ways to meet voters where they are and bring our supporters together.”

“Animal Crossing” has become one of the breakout games of the coronavirus pandemic. The game — which allows you to create a character who lives in a community — has been a way for communities to connect together when experts have suggested we remain socially distanced and quarantined, as Anne Wallace wrote for Deseret.com.
