“Star Wars” fans wanting a dose of a galaxy far, far away are in luck — Disneyland has added a new “Star Wars” shop to Downtown Disney, even though it originally appeared at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

What’s going on?

The OC Register reports that the Star Wars Trading Post pop-up shop at Downtown Disney — which had temporarily been placed at the WonderGround Gallery — will be moved into the old Rainforest Cafe location.

  • The store’s “Star Wars” products had originally been sold only at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
  • The shop will be “themed as a hidden jungle Resistance base with Rey’s speeder parked at the entrance,” according to The OC Register.
  • Disney fan blog MiceChat said the gift shop will be themed similar to Yavin-4, which is a jungle planet that was originally seen in “Star Wars: A New Hope.”

A future ‘Star Wars’ cantina

According to MiceChat, a new cantina might be added to the location.

  • “There’s room upstairs for Disney to do even more if they get ambitious,” according to MiceChat. “A Star Wars restaurant or bar would really turn the volume up to 11 on this project. You think Trader Sam’s is popular? ... Just imagine a large Star Wars cantina in Downtown Disney.”

Currently, Galaxy’s Edge only has a handful of restaurants, including Tugg’s Grub, Ronto Roasters and Oga’s Cantina. There are various snack stands throughout Galaxy’s Edge, too.
