A new Marvel theory suggests that Reed Richards — the leader of the Fantastic Four superhero group — may be appearing in the next few episodes of “WandaVision.”

What’s going on?

S.W.O.R.D. Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) has hinted in the last few “WandaVision” episodes that her aerospace engineer friend was on the way to help her figure out what’s going on.

  • Rambeau told FBI agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) and Dr. Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) that this engineer would be interested in the challenge of getting inside the “Hex” — another name for the alternate reality where Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) are hanging out right now.
  • Rambeau said in the latest episode that her friend is about to arrive to help her go inside the “Hex” for the second time.

So what does this have to do with Reed Richards?

Well, Richards — who becomes Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four — is a “genius-level intellect and his mastery of science and other fields, including aviation, robotics and quantum physics,” according to ComicBook.com.

Richards has not been seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe because the Fantastic Four characters — like the X-Men — were owned by 21st Century Fox. Disney purchased the characters in 2019. MCU boss Kevin Feige later announced a “Fantastic Four” project would be on the way.

So who will play him?

Interestingly, the current theory suggests that John Krasinski could play the hero. This has been an ongoing rumor for quite sometime, as I explained for the Deseret News.

Per ComicBook.com, the next episode of the season looks to be setting up a mockumentary-style episode similar to “The Office.” So, fans believe “Monica’s contact is the big-brained leader of the Fantastic Four, played by fan-favorite pick John Krasinski.”

Krasinski even told Total Film (via Games Radar) that he would be interested in playing the role of Mr. Fantastic in a rebooted “Fantastic Four” series.

  • Krasinski said: “I would love to be in the Marvel universe. I love those movies because they’re fun, but I also think they’re really well done. And certainly a lot of my friends are in those movies. I have no idea what (Marvel is) thinking. But if they are considering me for Mr. Fantastic, continue to consider me because I would love it.”
