“WandaVision” showrunner Jac Schaeffer said in a recent interview with Deadline there was a chance Doctor Strange might show up in “WandaVision” — but things didn’t happen behind the scenes to make it work.
- “I heart Doctor Strange just like anybody,” she told Deadline. “Yeah, it’s one of those things, that’s how the chips fell, that’s how the cookie crumbled, is what I will say, but I look forward to seeing him on screen with Wanda in ‘Doctor Strange 2.’”
Since the show’s production began, reports have suggested “WandaVision” would have connections to the upcoming film “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” In fact, the upcoming Disney+ show “Loki” will reportedly do the same.
Marvel chief Kevin Feige said new Disney+ shows like “Loki,” “WandaVision,” “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “Hawkeye” will lead right into future Marvel movies, as I wrote about for the Deseret News.
- “These episodes will intersect with the movies in a very big way,” Feige told Variety. “It’s a totally new form of storytelling that we get to play with and explore.”
- “They’ll be six episodes, eight episodes, 10 episodes with the actors from the films playing their characters,” Feige said. “They’ll be changing, evolving, growing in those event series and then those changes will be reflected in their next film appearances.”
