Disney announced that Marvel’s Avengers Campus will open up on June 4 at Disneyland.

Avengers Campus — an area similar to “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” — was set to open in July 2020. But, you know the coronavirus pandemic happened and led to Disneyland closing down, which led the Avengers Campus to close down with it. Now, the area will reopen in June.

  • “We are so excited to soon welcome our guests to Avengers Campus, our first land dedicated to super heroes,” said Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort, in a statement. “Here, our cast members will unite to help guests of all ages find their super powers and create special memories.”

Disney CEO Bob Chapek said in March that Avengers wouldn’t open with Disneyland when the park reopens. Instead, it will open later in 2021.

  • “At Disneyland Resort, the highly anticipated new Marvel-themed land Avengers Campus is currently scheduled to open later this year at Disney California Adventure,” he said, per Inside the Magic. “Guests will be able to sling webs like Spider-Man and see him soar through the air right before their eyes.”

Disney announced on March 11, 2020, that it would open Avengers Campus in July 2020. However, things went sideways on that day. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson announced they tested positive for COVID-19. Oh, and the game between the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder was canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak. So, yeah, wild day.

Then, Disney Parks announced on March 12 — one day later — that it would close Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure beginning on March 14, which automatically closed Avengers Campus, too.
