A TikTok user falsely claimed that Adam Sandler had died. But the claim spread fast across the internet, raising suspicion about the actor’s well-being.

The original post said Sandler had died by drowning. People reacting to the post said they had heard Sandler died in a car accident.

  • The original post, which began recirculating on TikTok on Jan. 11, worried fans since Sandler is one of the beloved comedians of the modern age, per Distractify.
  • Another trending post said the “Uncut Gems” actor’s death occurred in a car crash in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 11.

People took to comments to express their grief. One user wrote, “I paused after I read and felt pain for a good couple of minutes.” Another wrote, “Adam Sandler — Hey, are you okay? There’s a TikTok going around saying you are dead. If so, that’s really sad because you are a great actor and I love watching movies that you star in.”

Did Adam Sandler die?

Adam Sandler is alive and well. He even posted on Twitter to honor Bob Saget on Jan. 9. “Great man. Funny as hell. Such a nice person. love to Bob and his whole family,” the tweet read.

According to Screen Crush, in October 2021, Sandler wrapped up the Netflix film “Hustle,” where he stars as an unlucky basketball scout attempting to bring an overseas player into the NBA. The movie also stars Queen Latifah, Ben Foster and Robert Duvall.
