Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly announced that they are engaged in posts shared to Instagram on Wednesday.
The 35-year-old actress and the 31-year-old musician said they got engaged under a banyan tree surrounded by candles.
Brilliant Earth, a jewelry company, estimated the two-stoned ring with a pear-shaped diamond and emerald is estimated to cost between $300,000 to $400,000, “depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center and side stones,” the company said.
The Toi et Moi, or “You and Me,” rings have a deeper meaning — symbolizing two souls becoming one.
Kelly confessed in an Instagram post with over 8 million views that “tradition is one ring,” but he designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: The emerald, Fox’s birthstone, and the diamond, Kelly’s birthstone.
He added that the ring is “set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love.”
Webster, in an interview with Vogue, said he was inspired by Kelly’s romanticism.
- “He wanted something that was completely original and meaningful to both Megan and himself. He fed me lots of material in an almost lyrical form. I used this to create the two rings which become one. I used magnets embedded in the gold to attract the two rings together when worn as one. Possibly the most romantic story I have had to work with,” he said.
