Ahead of the upcoming release of the fifth season of “The Chosen,” the series has released a second sneak peek of what’s to come.
The five-minute preview, titled “Jesus Wants Judas' Heart,” depicts an emotional conversation between Christ and his apostle.
“It’s a conversation-turned-collision,” wrote “The Chosen” about the clip. “Judas tries persuading Jesus to ‘close the deal’ and take his rightful place as king. But the only thing Jesus wants in this moment is the one thing Judas is unwilling to give: his heart.”
“You’ll see the consequences of this encounter when Season 5 comes to theaters this spring.”
The sneak peek starts as Christ receives a visit from Judas.
“You have a choice to make, Judas,” Jesus says in the scene. “Who you belong to, who has your heart. I want it, and I’ve had it before. You followed me willingly.”
“I want to continue. There’s nothing I want more than that,” Judas responds as he takes Jesus' hands into his own.
“Then I will pray for you,” Jesus says.
Season 5 of “The Chosen” will detail the final days of Christ’s ministry and earthly life.
A logline for the upcoming season reads: “The people of Israel welcome Jesus as king while his disciples anticipate his crowning. But — instead of confronting Rome — he turns the tables on the Jewish religious festival. Their power threatened, the country’s religious and political leaders will go to any length to ensure this Passover meal is Jesus’ last,” per “The Chosen” site.
When does ‘The Chosen’ Season 5 come out?
“The Chosen” Season 5 premieres in theaters in March and April 2025. Like previous seasons, the fifth season will be theatrically released before it is released on streaming platforms.
Episodes 1 and 2 of “The Chosen” Season 5 will release in theaters in March, followed by the theatrical release of episodes 3 through 5 and later episodes 6 through 8 in April.
“The Chosen” Season 5 in its entirety will be available to stream for free through “The Chosen” app after the series is released theatrically.
Streaming dates for the series' fifth season have not been announced.
