Country music artist Shaboozey quickly rose through the musical ranks with his hit single “A Bar Song (Tipsy).”
He’s now nominated for five Grammys, including Best New Artist.
But did you know that he made a stop in Utah a few months ago for the Utah Hockey Club’s first home game?
The team still regularly plays his music in the locker room after wins, as Deseret News reporter Brogan Houston has pointed out.
Shaboozey and the Utah Hockey Club
In early October, Shaboozey was unveiled as the guest artist for the pre-game party before Utah Hockey Club’s first-ever home game, as the Deseret News reported at the time.
For his performance, the plaza outside the Delta Center was packed with thousands of Utahns getting ready for the inaugural game, reported Deseret News.
Brand new and long-time hockey fans enjoyed hearing the singer perform “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” over and over while sporting a new Utah Hockey Club jersey.
The Utah Hockey Club continued the excitement by winning their first home game, 5-2, against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The team has played Shaboozey’s music after many games since that night.
Shaboozey and sports
Shaboozey performed at several other sporting events in 2024, as well.
NBA
With another free, fan-focused event, Shaboozey was able to help kick off the 2024-25 NBA season last October. He performed at “NBA on TNT American Express Road show” in the Boston City Hall Plaza, reported Billboard.
Benson Boone, another Best New Artist nominee, also performed during the post-game entertainment.
NFL
The National Football League announced in early November that Shaboozey would be doing the halftime show during the Thanksgiving game between the Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears.
He also appeared in the halftime show for the Christmas game between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans alongside Beyonce and Post Malone, per Variety.
