Fire up the grill, or better yet, let someone else do the cooking on National Burger Day.

May 28 is celebrated as National Burger Day, and while a recent YouGov survey of 44,000 Americans crowned Five Guys as the nation’s favorite burger spot, the reigning champ isn’t offering any burger holiday deals. Luckily, runner-up Burger King and several other chains are stepping up to the plate with discounts to celebrate.

From a 1-cent burger to a free burger with purchase, here is where you can snag the best burger deals in 2026.

Arby’s

First and foremost, if you aren’t in a burger mood, Arby’s is offering a buy one, get one free deal on its sandwiches all weekend, from Friday through Sunday, according to food blogger Snackolator.

Bobby’s Burgers by Bobby Flay

Guests can get the signature Crunchburger — which features Bobby’s sauce, American cheese and potato chips — for $5.28 on May 28.

Buffalo Wild Wings

The wing emporium is offering new Buffalo Wild Wings Rewards members a free burger with an order of $15 or more after they join, according to USA Today.

Burger King

Royal Perks members can snag a free hamburger with any online or in-app purchase of $3 or more at participating locations on May 28, according to Today.

Carl’s Jr.

Rewards members can buy one Famous Star burger and get a second for just 1 cent on May 28 at participating locations.

Guests can redeem the offer once on the Carl’s Jr. app, website or in-restaurant, according to USA Today.

New members who sign up on National Burger Day will automatically receive the deal.

Dairy Queen

Dairy Queen rewards members can take $1 off any Signature Stackburger through May 31, according to USA Today.

Del Taco

Del Taco customers can buy one Double Del Cheeseburger and get a second free. The offer runs from May 28 to May 30.

Habit Burger & Grill

Habit Burger is offering two Charburgers for the price of one to MyHabit rewards members, according to a company news release.

The offer is available until June 3.

Jack in the Box

Diners can get a free Jr. Jumbo Jack with any purchase of $1 or more on May 28.

The chain is also offering a limited-time Smashed Jack Sliders Munchie Meal, which includes two sliders, two tacos, curly fries and a drink. Ordering the meal automatically enters into a sweepstakes for a $75,000 grand prize, according to USA Today.

Red Robin

On May 28, the chain is serving a “Big YUMMM” deal featuring a Red’s Double Burger, a bottomless side and bottomless beverage for $9.99. During the month of May, Red Robin Royalty members can earn double points when they make two or more purchases for dine-in or to-go, according to Today.

Shake Shack

To honor the holiday, Shake Shack is offering a buy one, get one free deal on single ShackBurgers using the promo code “FREEBURGER,” according to the company.

The chain is also giving guests a chance to win free burgers for a year if they enter the sweepstakes before June 1.

Smashburger

Smashburger is offering any of its single burgers for $5.28 all day on National Burger Day. Guests can use the code “528SINGLE” at checkout to get the deal.

Sonic

Sonic Rewards loyalty program members can get a free Sonic Smasher or All-American Smasher with a $3 purchase. For those not craving a burger, rewards members can instead opt for a free medium drink, which includes new refreshers, with a minimum $3 purchase, according to USA Today.
