The first episode of “The Chosen” Season 6 is available to watch now in churches across the world, Dallas Jenkins, creator of the biblical drama, announced in a livestream Sunday night.
Over 40,000 churches across the world have already signed up to premiere the episode for their congregations, even though the official premiere is not until mid-November.
“We’ve never done this before, but we really, really want to do this this time,” Jenkins said. “The reason we’re doing it in churches is because this episode in particular, but this whole season is something that you might need a little bit of hand-holding.”
“By that I mean we introduce some concepts that we have not introduced before,” he continued. “So we want to give churches and pastors and priests the opportunity to shepherd their people through some of this.”
“There’s going to be questions, especially from people who don’t know the story very well.”
The sixth season depicts the final 24 hours in the life of Jesus Christ, known as Good Friday. Audiences will see Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion along with the confusion among his disciples that ultimately leads them to scatter.
“Season 6 is really a lot about surrender. We’re watching Jesus ultimately surrender to something that was extraordinarily painful,” Jenkins told the Deseret News at ChosenCon in February.
He continued, “The disciples confused, broken, wondering, having to surrender. I think I’m hoping that the viewers come away from the season saying, Can you surrender even when you don’t always understand people?”
The opportunity to sign up to host an early-access screening of the episode is still available. Ministry leaders can sign up online, while fans can share the opportunity with local churches and encourage them to participate.
“We’re approaching the crucifixion and the why of the crucifixion and what it meant and why it was not just some random event, but that it was the culmination of something that had been building, a story that had been told for thousands of years,” Jenkins said Sunday night. “We think a church is a great place for you to kind of till the soil for this coming season.”
‘The Chosen: The Three Kings’
During the Sunday night livestream, Jenkins also announced a brand-new Christmas special, “The Chosen: The Three Kings,” which will air on Fox in December.
The standalone special will be the third installment in “The Chosen” Christmas trilogy, following “The Shepherd” and “The Messengers.”
Jenkins said the episode will flow directly with Season 6 and into Season 7, adding, “Some of the storylines that are in Season 6 are actually carried out in this episode. So this is not just a separate episode like it’s disconnected from the show.”
“You are going to see some really, really cool things,” he continued. “And of course, we’re going to give the ‘Chosen’ treatment to a very famous story that’s only given brief mention in the Bible, but we have expanded on the cultural and historical significance of it.”
“And I’m telling you, you have not seen it like this before.”
When does ‘The Chosen’ Season 6 come out?
Season 6 of “The Chosen” will debut on Prime Video this November.
Season 6 will span six episodes, plus a finale. It will launch with three episodes on Nov. 15, followed by weekly installments before concluding with the global theatrical release of the season finale in spring 2027.

The sixth season will follow the same release pattern globally and will be available on Prime Video in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, sub-Saharan Africa, the U.K., and Latin America.
For the first time, all six episodes and the finale will be released in dozens of languages, instead of translations being added after the show’s release.
Jenkins called the sixth season “the biggest we’ve ever done without a close second.”
“It’s taking the longest to film, by far,” he continued. “The visual effects, the translations, especially, take at least two to three times longer than any season we’ve ever done.”
