Inside the Yorba Linda California Temple

Plans to construct a Latter-day Saint temple in Yorba Linda, California, were first announced by former church President Russell M. Nelson during the church’s April 2021 general conference.
Construction of the temple officially began with a groundbreaking ceremony held June 18, 2022.

The Yorba Linda temple is a single-story structure of approximately 30,000 square feet.
It is situated on a 5.46-acre plot located at the intersection of Bastanchury Road and Osmond Street in Yorba Linda, California.

The Yorba Linda temple’s design features elements that “reflect the local landscape and communities,” according to a church press release published on ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
These elements include “palm leaves in exterior stone carvings and colors and patterns inspired by historic Spanish mission buildings.”
Outside, the Yorba Linda temple features white Blanco Macel marble with soft pink and gray granite accents, as well as a terracotta-clay-tile roof.
Inside, the temple’s art glass features patterns incorporating palm elements and rondels with green, blue, orange and yellow hues.
Four pieces of original artwork are found throughout the temple. These highlight religious themes and landscapes in Southern California.

As California’s ninth operating Latter-day Saint temple, the Yorba Linda California Temple will help serve the more than 21,500 members of the Church of Jesus Christ in eight stakes in Yorba Linda.
