The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released an exterior rendering of the future Spanish Fork Utah Temple — the Beehive state’s 32nd announced temple.

The Spanish Fork Utah Temple was first announced in April 2025 general conference by then-church President Russell M. Nelson. It was the very last temple the late prophet announced before his death in September 2025.

“Regular worship in the house of the Lord increases our capacity for both virtue and charity,” President Nelson said in April 2025. “Thus, time in the temple increases our confidence before the Lord. Increased time in the temple will help us prepare for the Second Coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.”

The future Spanish Fork temple will be a multistory building of approximately 80,000 square feet located at the corner of 100 South and 2550 East in Spanish Fork, according to site plans released by the church on Jan. 12. An ancillary building will accompany the temple on its 8.7-acre site.

The Spanish Fork Utah Temple is the 32nd Latter-day Saint temple announced for the state and the ninth in Utah County.

It was announced exactly 148 years — to the day — after Utah’s first Latter-day Saint temple was dedicated in St. George, according to the Church News’ temple almanac. The new temple will help serve the state’s nearly 2.2 million Latter-day Saints.

“The doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints centers on the family,” current church President Dallin H. Oaks taught in a recent general conference. “Essential to our doctrine on the family is the temple. The ordinances received there enable us to return as eternal families to the presence of our Heavenly Father.”
