On Mother’s Day, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launched a new resource for mothers across the nation: Moms.gov.
This resource is one of many recently announced by the Trump administration to address the growing concern surrounding maternal health in the U.S.
What is Moms.gov?
Moms.gov is “a user-friendly, one-stop digital hub providing new and expectant mothers with essential resources,” according to a press release from the White House.
The website contains information on pregnancy centers, Trump Accounts, TrumpRx, nutritional guidance and other related information on infant and maternal health.
“We are thrilled to support mothers everywhere, whether it’s that mom that is getting to experience growing life for the very first time, or the one chasing toddlers, or wrangling teenagers, or being there when their adult child calls for advice,” said Alabama Sen. Katie Britt, who has been involved in many of the administration’s efforts to support maternal health. “Moms are the heartbeats of our families, our communities, and our country.”
At a press conference on maternal health, President Donald Trump encouraged all moms to visit this page for information on available resources.

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed the site as well, linking it to the Make America Healthy Again movement.
“Moms.gov delivers critical tools and support to help parents foster healthy pregnancies, strengthen young families, and create brighter futures for their children,” Kennedy said in a statement. “This is how you Make America Healthy Again.”
Maternal health is a growing issue in the U.S.
The resources provided by the Trump administration come in response to a growing issue within the nation: The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate of all high-income countries.
Research shows many of these deaths could have been prevented, but economic and social barriers, like lack of care options or insurance coverage, kept patients from receiving the treatment they needed.
Luisa Hansen, public information officer for the Utah Department of Health and Human Services, said maternal mortality is a top priority for public health agencies.
“Maternal deaths can be like the ‘canary in a coal mine,’ highlighting dangerous or unhealthy conditions that put the whole community at risk,” Hansen said.
Fink said efforts by the Trump administration to support mothers and families is reducing maternal mortality rates.
What more resources mean for the future
Olivia Walton, the founder of Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies America, says strengthening mothers and families is “the most strategic investment we can make” in America’s future.
Walton said the organization set a goal to cut the U.S. maternal mortality rate in half in five years.
“We like to say healthy moms lead to healthy families, healthy families to healthy communities, healthy communities to healthy economies,” Walton said. “Yes, this is of course an economic issue.”
Resources for mothers and families are continually expanding
The launch of Moms.gov comes amid other initiatives on maternal health and families, including expanding access to IVF, TrumpRx, Trump Accounts, the first lady’s Fostering the Future initiative and the Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies America campaign.
“Supporting women’s health is not just a policy, it’s a promise,” said Dorothy Fink, the deputy assistant secretary for women’s health, at a press conference on Monday. “We know that healthy mothers help build healthy families, and that healthy families build a healthy America.”
