The state of Utah reported a record high 3,919 new cases of coronavirus Thursday and repercussions are already being felt.

Shortly after the record high was announced, BYU had an announcement of its own.

Fan attendance for the Cougars’ game against North Alabama at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Nov. 21 will be limited to players’ and coaches’ families only.

The game will be televised nationally on BYUtv and ESPN3 at 1 p.m. MST.

No decision has been made regarding attendance policies for BYU’s game against San Diego State on Saturday, Dec. 12.

The Cougars aren’t the only in-state program to recently change its attendance policy.

Earlier this week, Utah State announced that no fans would be in attendance for this weekend’s game against Fresno State, with the attendance policy for future games yet to be decided.
