The games won’t count until Dec. 22, but the Utah Jazz will be back in action on Dec. 12.

The NBA on Friday released the 2020 preseason schedule, and the Jazz will open up their 3-game slate at home on the 12th against the Phoenix Suns, meaning All-Star guard Chris Paul’s first outing with the Suns after being traded there earlier this month will be against Utah.

The two teams will play again at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City on Dec. 14 before the Jazz close preseason play Dec. 17 on the road against the LA Clippers. The Jazz announced earlier this week that a limited number of fans will be allowed in Vivint Arena for games at the start of the regular season, but that will not be the case for the preseason contests.

While Utah starts preseason play on the 12th, the league will open the night before with five games.

The first part of the regular season schedule (it will be released in two parts, with the second coming during the season) has not yet been unveiled.
