BYU libero Madi Allen has become an instant impact player for the Cougars in her true freshman season.

On Thursday night, Allen took that recognition to another level, as her back-to-back-to-back saves during a long rally in the Cougars’ win over Utah Valley landed her in the No. 4 spot on “SportsCenter’s” Top 10 plays of the day.

Allen, a 5-foot-8 native of Temecula, California, had a team-high 21 digs in the Cougars’ four-set victory over the Wolverines.

That came after she earned West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday for her efforts in a pair of wins over Portland last week. In the two matches, the first two of her college career, Allen had 27 total digs, including 17 in the first match.

She averaged 4.50 digs in six sets against Portland while helping hold the Pilots to a .206 hitting percentage.
