BYU’s talented sophomore running back crossed the goal line for his second touchdown of the night to put the Cougars ahead by 26 points. BYU 33, Colorado 7.

Martin has ran 16 times for 88 yards tonight — along with a team-high 33 receiving yards — to likely take home Alamo Bowl Offensive MVP honors.

Jake Retzlaff was picked off in the end zone by Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig for BYU’s third interception of the night. BYU 27, Colorado 7.

Even with three turnovers, the Cougars still lead by 20 points and have racked up 265 yards of offense to the Buffaloes’ 125.

Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter connected for a 43-yard touchdown amid broken BYU coverage, earning the first Buffalo points of the night. BYU 27, Colorado 7.

Sione Moa added to the Cougars’ advantage with a 13-yard score to cap a 9-play, 55-yard drive following Evan Johnson’s interception. BYU 27, Colorado 0.

The touchdown marks Moa’s third of his collegiate career, as BYU has now accumulated 207 yards of offense to Colorado’s 72.

Shedeur Sanders was picked off by cornerback Evan Johnson, with Tanner Wall laying a monster hit to knock the ball loose and into the hands of Johnson. BYU 20, Colorado 0.

The Cougars have now recorded an interception in all 13 games this season and is tied for the national lead with 21 team interceptions.

What an opening statement from Kalani Sitake’s Cougars.

Underdog BYU leads star-studded Colorado by three scores at halftime — and hasn’t allowed a single Buffaloes point.

The Cougars pitched their first pre-halftime shutout of the season against a Heisman Trophy winner along with a projected first round NFL quarterback.

When taking away 60 yards from Travis Hunter, Colorado has produced just one yard of offense all night. BYU has even matched its season high with three sacks already.

Take a bow, Jay Hill.

The Cougars’ passing attack has been shaky — Jake Retzlaff is 7 of 14 in passing thus far with both he and Gerry Bohanon having thrown interceptions — but LJ Martin is averaging 6.3 yards per carry and Parker Kingston provided a 64-yard punt return touchdown.

Colorado will receive the second half kickoff as BYU looks to finish its dominant effort for the win.

The elite Cougars kicker drilled another 50+ yard field goal, this time tying his season best by connecting from 54 yards out to end the first half. BYU 20, Colorado 0.

5:32 — It’s just BYU’s night.

The Cougars made magic happen on special teams once again, with Parker Kingston taking punt 64 yards to the house for his second return touchdown of the season. BYU 17, Colorado 0.

8:11 — Another promising BYU drive ends with an interception.

Having driven deep into Colorado territory, a Jake Retzlaff shovel pass was deflected and picked off by Buffaloes defensive lineman Anquin Barnes Jr. BYU 10, Colorado 0.

11:12 — Shedeur Sanders, meet Jay Hill’s defense.

On a critical third down at the BYU 7-yard line, the Colorado QB was sacked by Logan Lutui for a loss of 23 yards. The Buffaloes would then attempt a 48-yard field goal, only to miss and remain scoreless on the evening. BYU 10, Colorado 0.

Lutui’s sack was made possible by helpful pressure by seniors Tyler Batty and John Nelson.

The high-powered Buffaloes offense has looked anything but thus far. When taking away 60 receiving yards from Heisman winner Travis Hunter, Colorado has just -5 yards of production against the Cougars.

0:15 — BYU got a bit too cute and paid the price for it.

After stealing a possession from Colorado with a surprise onside kick and recovery by Ethan Slade, Jake Retzlaff handed the football to Gerry Bohanon, who fired downfield and was picked off by Buffaloes defensive back D.J. McKinney. BYU 10, Colorado 0.

2:19 — Will Ferrin puts the Cougars ahead by two scores with a 51-yard field goal. BYU 10, Colorado 0.

Ferrin now holds the program single-season record for made field goals with 22 on the campaign.

7:10 — BYU strikes first in San Antonio.

The Cougars broke the scoreless tie on a 1-yard rushing touchdown from LJ Martin — his sixth of the season — to cap off a 6-play, 52-yard drive. BYU 7, Colorado 0.

Martin provided a key seven yard gain to convert on third down earlier in the drive, along with a 28-yard reception to bring the Cougars into the red zone.

Additionally, backup quarterback Gerry Bohanon made a rare appearance on a gadget play to pick up 11 yards and set up Martin’s goal line score.
