It’s been a tremendous season so far for Utah State basketball, and now the Aggies have some national recognition to show for it.

Utah State came in at No. 25 in Monday’s AP poll, entering the top 25 for the first time in the current campaign.

The Aggies are 14-1 under Jerrod Calhoun in his first year in Logan, beginning 4-0 in Mountain West play with wins at Nevada and against Fresno State in the past week.

The crown feather in Calhoun’s cap, however, is Utah State’s 67-66 win at No. 20 San Diego State on Dec. 28 — the first ranked road victory for the Aggies in more than three decades.

Utah State was the only Mountain West squad featured in Monday’s poll, with the Aztecs receiving 26 total votes.
