BYU has its first offensive line commit in its 2027 recruiting class, though it will be some time before he suits up for the school.

One day after the Cougars received a verbal commitment from four-star edge rusher Uhila Wolfgramm, offensive tackle Kyle Nabrotzky announced his pledge via social media.

Who is Kyle Nabrotzky?

The 6-foot-5, 280-pound Nabrotzky is from Brentwood, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville. He is listed as a three-star offensive lineman with an .875 rating in 247 Sports’ composite rankings.

Nabrotzky chose the Cougars over his other finalists, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.

He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Nabrotzky plans to graduate early and serve a two-year mission prior to enrolling at BYU.

“BYU is very supportive of missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,” Nabrotzky told On3’s Greg Biggins. “I will be serving a two-year mission starting December 2026.

“BYU is a church school and it incorporates faith very well into everything. Most of my family went there and I have been a fan my whole life so I’m really excited about this opportunity.”

How does Kyle Nabrotzky fits into BYU’s 2027 recruiting class?

Nabrotzky is the 12th commit for the Cougars in this year’s class and the first offensive lineman. His commitment came one day after another offensive lineman BYU was pursuing heavily, Corner Canyon’s Manase Brown, committed to Fresno State.

Nabrotzky held scholarship offers from just over a dozen power conference schools, according to 247 Sports, a list that also included Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, UCLA and fellow Big 12 programs TCU and Oklahoma State.

He took an official visit to BYU on the weekend of June 19 alongside a large contingent of other prospects.

Nabrotzky explained to On3 why he chose the Cougars.

“There were a lot of reasons why I chose BYU,” Nabrotzky told Biggins. “A big one was my relationship with the coaching staff and the development I know I’m going to get there.

“I really like coach (TJ) Woods (OL coach) and excited to play for him. He’s really focused on helping his players reach their full potential. He understands how and when to push his players really hard, and when to love them too.”
