Kanab took control early, scoring four touchdowns in the first quarter, including a 9-yard run by Degan Swapp with 6:33 left. Swapp continued to shine with an 8-yard reception and a 27-yard run for touchdowns in the second quarter. The Cowboys extended their lead with a 59-yard touchdown pass from Nolan Baird to Brayden Bauman at 9:44 in the third quarter. Kanab’s potent offense and effective defense kept North Sevier scoreless throughout the game.

Davis 56, Fremont 28

Bode Sparrow’s 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the third quarter was a defining moment as Davis (1-1) overwhelmed Fremont (1-1) 56-28 in a nonregion matchup. Sparrow also caught an 8-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, contributing to Davis’s dominating first-half lead. The Darts extended their advantage with three rushing touchdowns from Kysen Gallegos and Briggs Taylor. Cedar Valley (1-1) defeated Elko, Nev. (1-1) 26-19 by overcoming an early deficit in a nonregion matchup. Elko took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter before Cedar Valley’s Ryder Amador connected with Cash Thacker for a 41-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter, leveling the score. McCrae Miles then caught a 15-yard pass from Thacker with 8:45 remaining in the second quarter to give Cedar Valley the lead. Thacker sealed the game with a 37-yard touchdown pass to Amador with 6:40 left in the fourth quarter, ensuring the Aviators stayed ahead.

Layton 30, Northridge 0

Layton (1-1) shut out Northridge (0-2) in a dominant 30-0 victory during a nonregion game. The Lancers took control in the second quarter, starting with a 39-yard touchdown pass from Tillman Thomas to Carter Hughes at 11:20. Hughes caught a second touchdown, a 21-yard pass from Thomas, with 36 seconds left in the half. Miles Neuteboom also added a 31-yard field goal in the second quarter. In the fourth quarter, Jake Strong and Luke Byers each had 2-yard rushing touchdowns, sealing the win for Layton. Northridge was unable to score throughout the game.

Titan Borchardt scored four touchdowns, including a 7-yard run with 6:19 left in the fourth quarter, to lead the Hurricane Tigers (1-0) to a commanding 49-20 victory over the Moapa Valley Pirates in a nonregion game. Borchardt rushed for touchdowns from 25, 5, 7, and 5 yards throughout the game. Kannon Cowan connected with Parker Hurst for two touchdown passes in the first half, including a 35-yard strike at 9:04 in the first quarter. Moapa Valley’s (0-1) scoring dried up after the third quarter, sealing their defeat.

Mater Dei, Calif. 31, American Fork 11

American Fork (1-1) struggled against the powerful Mater Dei Monarchs in a nonregion game, falling 31-11. The Cavemen’s scoring was limited, with Jace Worthington nailing a 26-yard field goal with just 54 seconds left in the second quarter. American Fork found the end zone in the third quarter when Cash Taiese caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Jake Matsen with 4:19 remaining. Despite this effort, Mater Dei’s dominant offense, which surged in the second and fourth quarters with a combined total of 31 points, proved insurmountable for the Cavemen.

Brandtson Mack sparked the Buckaroos with a 47-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown just before halftime, putting Monticello ahead 49-23. The Marauders’ Jordan Gardner shined with three rushing touchdowns, including a 52-yard dash in the second quarter. Despite Gardner’s efforts, Monticello maintained control with Miles Coleman and Canyon Christensen scoring touchdowns late in the fourth quarter. Monticello’s special teams also contributed, with Cash Mack returning an 85-yard kickoff for a touchdown.

Rich 65, Milford 19

Rich (2-0) dominated Milford (1-1) in a decisive 65-19 victory in their rematch of the 1A 8-player state championship game. Rich’s explosive second half was marked by 27 points in the third quarter alone. Wilkes Weston led Rich with four touchdowns, including runs of 34 and 59 yards, and connected with Wyatt O’Mealy for a 4-yard touchdown pass. Jasper Johnson contributed with a 74-yard fumble recovery in the first quarter and a 38-yard run in the fourth. Milford struggled to keep pace as Rich’s defense held the Tigers scoreless in the final quarter.

Water Canyon 50, Beaver Dam, Ariz. 34

Water Canyon (-1) defeated Beaver Dam, Ariz. (0-0) in a high-scoring nonregion game, 50-34, on Aug 21, 2026. The Wildcats built an early lead with 14 points in the first quarter and kept the scoring strong throughout the game, ultimately outpacing the Diamondbacks.

North Gem, Idaho 28, Utah Military Hillfield 24

Despite a strong offensive effort, Utah Military Hillfield fell short in a nonregion game against North Gem.
