OREM — The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating an alleged road rage incident.

Sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. on Thursday, a driver claimed someone fired five shots at him on I-15 between 800 North and 1600 North in Orem.

The man was stopped by Orem police driving recklessly once he exited the freeway. After officers pulled him over and talked to him, they discovered he was shaken from someone firing shots at him. Orem police say dispatchers received additional calls about gunshots on the freeway.

UHP troopers were called to investigate and found shell casings in the area where the shooting occurred. No injuries were reported.

The only description troopers have of the suspect vehicle was an older model Oldsmobile. The UHP did not know Friday what may have prompted the shooting.
