After treading lightly on the campaign trail, Tiny Tim has decided to drop his short-lived bid for mayor and back Rudolph Giuliani.
The entertainer had planned to run on the New Age Party line but decided to drop out of the race after only five weeks, the Daily News reported Monday."My campaign fizzled as flat as this beer," he told a News reporter over a few brews.
The campaign had been his manager's idea, Tim told the News, "and I just went along with it. But it never seemed to catch fire."
Giuliani, a Republican who has yet to formally announce his candidacy, "appears to be a very honest man, with good intentions," said Tim, who gained notoriety with his high-pitched voice, a ukulele, and song "Tiptoe Through the Tulips."
Tim said his endorsement for the former U.S. attorney comes without strings, such as an appointment as parks commissioner.
"Goodness, no," he said.
