The new General Authorities sustained during conference are:

Eduardo Ayala, 52, Santiago, Chile, coordinator of education for the Church Educational System and a regional representative. He is former president of the Uruguay Montevideo Mission, president of two stakes and district president. A native of Coronel, Chile, he is married to Blanca Epinoza Ayala of Rinconada de Joha, Chile. They are parents of three children.

LeGrand R. Curtis, 65, Salt Lake City, Utah, an orthodontist and is a patriarch of the Salt Lake Holladay North Stake and a temple officiator. He previously was president of the Florida Tallahassee Mission, branch president, bishop, stake president and member of the Young Men general presidency. He is married to Patricia Glade Curtis of Salt Lake City. They are parents of eight children.

Clinton L. Cutler, 60, Draper, Utah, president of the Washington Seattle Mission. He has served as a regional representative, stake president in Denver, Colo., and Boise, Idaho, and bishop in Ogden, Utah. He retired after more than 32 years employment with Mountain Bell. He is married to Erma Nielsen Cutler of Riverton, Utah; they have six children.

Robert K. Dellenbach, 52, Salt Lake City, executive vice president of American Synergy Corporation, and is a regional representative. He is a former mission president, and has been a stake president and bishop. He served as a missionary in the West German Mission, and he and his wife, Mary-Jane Broadbent Dellenbach, also served as missionaries in Dusseldorf. He is former president of Alaska Methodist University, director of the Institute for Advanced Technology for Control Data Corporation, and director of special projects for the Salk Institute, and director of Alaska Public Television. He and his wife are parents of three sons.

Harold G. Hillam, 55, Idaho Falls, Idaho, an orthodontist. He is a regional representative, and previously was president of the Portugal Lisbon Mission, stake president and counselor, bishop's counselor, area welfare leader, and missionary in Brazil. He has been president of the Idaho Falls Dental Society, Idaho State Orthodontic Society, president of the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists, and president of the Teton Peaks Council, Boy Scouts of America. He is married to Carol Lois Rasmussen Hillam of Salt Lake City; they are parents of seven children.

Kenneth Johnson, 49, Norwich, England, a partner in an insurance brokerage. He is a regional representative, former stake president and counselor, bishop's counselor, district missionary, gospel doctrine and institute teacher, and district Young Men leader. He is a graduate of Norwich City College and did graduate study at the City and Guilds of London Institute of Printing, and was a college teacher. He married Pamela Wilson Johnson of Norwich. They are parents of a son.

Helvecio Martins, 59, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, president of the Brazil Fortaleza Mission. He served nearly six years as a bishop and was counselor to two stake presidents in Rio de Janeiro. He is former assistant professor at Rio de Janeiro State University, financial management controller for Petrobras, S.A., and financial director of Liderbras, S.A. He and his wife, Ruda Tourinho de Assis Martins, are parents of four children. The family joined the Church in 1972.

Lynn A. Mickelsen, 54, Idaho Falls, Idaho, self-employed as a farmer and potato shipper. He is gospel doctrine teacher in the Idaho Falls 19th Ward, Idaho Falls Idaho North Stake. He is a former president of the Colombia Cali Mission, missionary to Central America, bishop, stake president and regional representative. He attended Ricks College and graduated from BYU. He serves on a hospital board and in farm associations. He is married to Jeanine Andersen Mickelsen of Brigham City, Utah. They have nine children.

J Ballard Washburn, 61, Page, Ariz., president of the Arizona Phoenix Mission. He was a medical doctor for 28 years in Page, after graduating from BYU and the University of Utah Medical School. A former regional representative, he has been a stake president and bishop's counselor. He is married to Barbara Harries Washburn of Salt Lake City. They are parents of 10 children.

Durrell A. Woolsey, 63, Stockton, Calif., president of the Arizona Tempe Mission. A native of Escalante, Utah, he is former president and counselor of the Stockton California Stake, bishop's counselor in Taft, Calif., and stake Young men superintendent in Bakersfield, Calif. He was a businessman for more than 30 years, and served as president of the Taft Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He married LaRae Wood Woolsey of Hurricane, Utah. They have three children.
