Adrian Ward-Jackson, a former member of the board of directors of Britain's Royal Ballet and a close friend of the Princess of Wales, died early Friday of AIDS. He was 41.

Ian Robertson of St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, west London, announced the death of Ward-Jackson, who also was an art dealer and AIDS activist.Princess Diana interrupted a vacation in Balmoral, Scotland, with the royal family Tuesday to be at his bedside after being told he had only a few days to live, Buckingham Palace said.
