Actor Cleavon Little, best known for his role as the black sheriff in the Western comedy "Blazing Saddles," died of colon cancer Thursday at his home. He was 52.
The actor's agent and friend Susan Smith said Little was surrounded by close friends and his family when he died at 7:25 a.m. in his suburban home in Sherman Oaks.Smith said Little had been ill with cancer for about a year.
Little won an Emmy for his 1989 guest appearance on the sitcom "Dear John."
