Homicide detectives say a woman found dead in her West Salt Lake apartment Wednesday was suffocated.
Teresa Ann Morlock, 35, was also beaten before she was killed. She had bruises and cuts on her face when her body was found about 2:30 p.m. by a maintenance man. She was found lying on the floor of her bedroom, where there were signs that a struggle had taken place, a Salt Lake police report states. The last time anyone had seen Morlock was 24 hours earlier, said Salt Lake Police Lt. Jim Bell.
Morlock had a criminal record for prostitution and drug abuse and investigators are looking into possible connections. "As far as we know, she didn't trick there," said Bell. However, she apparently brought friends and associates to her home.
Detectives have been searching for at least two people they want to talk to but have no firm suspects. "We're just trying to track down her activities for the last little while," the lieutenant said.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry into her apartment and a television in the living room was still on, according to the report.
