Canella (Nellie) Fotes, lovingly known as "YAYA" by most who knew her, passed away quietly of old age Monday, May 3, 1993.

Born October 18, 1895 in Kounoupia, Leonidion, Greece, to Emanual and Maroula Golios Kallas, the third youngest of 14 children who have all preceded her in death. She emigrated to America in 1929 where she married Peter G. Fotes. They settled in Layton, Utah where she lived most of her life.Her husband died May 21, 1947. Survived by two sons, George (Yalonda), and Mike (Eleni); daughter, Mary (Ernest) McComie; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services Wednesday, May 5, 1993, 12 noon at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, 279 South 300 West. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment: Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
