Bill Koch, the longshot who shook the yachting world with his 1992 America's Cup victory, will use the first all-women team in the 142-year history of the race for his title defense next year.

The team will face male-dominated squads in head-to-head competition - first to qualify as U.S. representative, and if that happens, against the best in the world for the America's Cup next year.The syndicate has already signed nine women, including five U.S. Olympic medalists and will begin practice June 1.
