Q. Craig T. Nelson has been in so many movies and sitcoms and has always played great parts and characters, e.g. "Coach" and his last TV movie, "Ride With the Wind." We'd really appreciate it if you could give us more information on him. We remember a TV show in which he portrayed a military fighter pilot. What was the name of the show and what was his character's name? - Driving Us Crazy in Conn., Hamden, Conn.

A. Nelson, 48, wears a lot of different hats. He started out as a writer on "The Tim Conway Comedy Hour" in 1970. Since then he's acted in feature films ("Private Benjamin," "Poltergeist," "Troop Beverly Hills"), TV dramas (1984's "Call to Glory," in which he played Air Force Colonel Raynor Sarnac) and a hit sitcom ("Coach"). He starred in, co-wrote and co-produced last month's TV movie "Ride With the Wind." Nelson also has a role in the syndicated "Lonesome Dove" series starting in the fall. Off-screen, the actor owns and drives in the Screaming Eagle racing team, which he hopes reaches LeMans in June. "Coach" celebrates its fifth anniversary in a special airing May 23 on ABC.Q. Can you tell me everything about Sinbad? I watch his show and I love it. - N.B.S., Cherry Hill, N.J.

A. The 6-foot-5-inch comic's career didn't take shape until a knee injury at the University of Denver ended his hopes of playing pro basketball. After a stint in the Air Force, Sinbad took off on his self-proclaimed "Poverty Tour," traveling across the country, often sleeping in his car, playing comedy clubs. His big break came with a 1983 Star Search appearance. He lost the $100,000 grand prize but won a role on "The New Redd Foxx Show." Then Bill Cosby cast him in "A Different World," where he played Walter Oaks for four seasons. He has hosted "Showtime At The Apollo," made two HBO comedy specials, three feature films and, this season, starred in his own show on Fox. Sinbad, 37, lives in Los Angeles and has two children.

Q. Since "Honor Thy Father and Mother: The True Story of the Menendez Murders" aired, I have been going crazy trying to figure out where I have seen Billy Warlock. Also, has David Beron been in anything else and how can I let him know what a wonderful actor I think he is? - A., Austin, Texas.

A. Warlock played Frankie on "Days of Our Lives." He looked a little different in the Fox movie because he wore fake ear wedges and tinted contact lenses to make him look more like Lyle Menendez. His co-star, David Beron, made his dramatic debut as Erik in "Honor Thy Father and Mother." Write to the actors c/o Fox, P.O. Box 900, Los Angeles, CA 90213.

Q. Will you please tell me what series Gary Cole was in? I saw him the other night in "A Time to Heal." - A Reader, Lansdowne, Penn.

A. He was the late-night DJ in "Midnight Caller" on NBC in 1988. He also starred as ex-Green Beret Capt. Jeffrey MacDonald, convicted of killing his wife and children, in the miniseries "Fatal Vision." Cole's recent TV movie, "A Time to Heal," had him paired with Ni-collette Sheridan.

Q. As a fan of Pierce Brosnan from "Remington Steele," I think I remember that he had been in the running for James Bond years ago but couldn't accept the role because of his contract with the series. I now hear that a new James Bond is needed. I've always felt he would make a great Bond. Any chance? - P.M., El Dorado, Calif.

A. Timothy Dalton, who's in Ireland filming CBS' "Scarlett" mini-series (he plays Rhett Butler), says he's through being Bond. Brosnan is apparently under consideration as the next 007.

Q. Please tell me that "seaQuest DSV" is not going off the air. It is one of the best series on TV. Where can I write to get "seaQuest DSV" memorabilia? J.A.O., Spring-field, Pa.

A. NBC's futuristic nautical adventure, from executive producer Steven Spielberg, has been given the go-ahead for a new season. Roy Scheider and teen favorite Jonathan Brandis are expected to return in their roles. "SeaQuest" merchandise can be purchased at the Corner Store at Universal Studios in Los Angeles; no mail or phone orders, though.

Q. Whatever became of the wonderful actor/dancer who was hit by a car and critically injured - Ben Vereen? - K.B., Tulsa, Okla.

A. Vereen returned to Broadway last spring in "Jelly's Last Jam." This year, he was a Black History Month speaker at Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C., and appeared at the annual Young Audiences of Greater Dallas benefit, where he introduced himself as Webster's uncle. Vereen is back on TV this week guest-starring on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" as Will's long-lost father.

Q. Can you please tell me something about Daisy Fuentes from MTV? Is she Spanish? - F.R., Spring Valley, Calif.

She's seen on MTV and MTV Internacional and now has her own interview show on CNBC (Saturdays). Outside of broadcasting, Fuentes recently signed a contract with Revlon cosmetics to represent their fragrance and beauty treatment products.
