British cosmologist Stephen W. Hawking will return to Utah this summer to participate in the Hansen Planetarium's 30th anniversary celebration.

Hawking will present a public lecture Monday, July 17, at 7 p.m. in the Huntsman Center at the University of Utah. He'll also continue collaboration on a documentary film being produced by the planetarium called "Fate of the Universe."The film is an adaptation of a planetarium-dome show which Hawking co-authored for the Hansen Planetarium. Hawking came to Utah in 1993 for the premiere of the show.

He also gave a public lecture at Abravanel Hall. More than 15,000 people tried to get into the event, which could accommodate only 3,000 people.
