Dale Jay Abbott, 41, of Springville, Utah, died Thursday, June 22, 1995 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo.
He was born on August 27, 1953 in Spanish Fork, the son of C. Leon Abbott and Louise Snell Abbott. He was educated in Spanish Fork schools and seminary. He attended Utah Technical College at Provo, Utah. He worked twenty-three years at PSCIPCO. He was very active in Spanish Fork Gun Club, where he served as an officer. He served as president of the Spanish Fork Eagles for three years. He was a loving friend to many. He was instrumental in organizing and presenting many charitable projects, such as Eagles Sub for Santa, and arranging for seeing eye dogs for several blind people. He was a member of the LDS Church. He married Myra Olsen Barlow, they were later divorced.Survivors include his parents of Spanish Fork, one daughter: Jaymie Rae Veltri; one granddaughter: Hannah Rae Veltri; three step-sons: Don Abbott, Doug Abbott; Danny Abbott, all of Priest River, Idaho; a grandmother: Alice L. Snell, of Spanish Fork; and a sister: Mrs. David (Janene) Strate, of Ephriam. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Larry Lane Abbott and David L. Abbott.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 27, 1995 at 1 p.m. in the Spanish Fork LDS 9th Ward Chapel, 98 South Main, Spanish Fork. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main Street, Spanish Fork on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. or Tuesday at the mortuary from 11:30 to 12:30. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
