KSL radio (AM-1160), narrowing the search for a replacement for morning news anchor Amanda Dickson, has been conducting final interviews this week.
"We're getting close," said Rod Arquette, KSL vice president of news and programming. "We've got a lot of very fine candidates."Arquette said it has been amazing how many have applied for the morning job - more than 85 - both locally and nationally. He said a replacement could be named soon. KSL hopes to have a new personality on the air by the end of the month.
Dickson left KSL just before Christmas to pursue a career in law. Her morning co-host, Grant Nielsen, is staying with the station. KSL is looking for a man or woman to co-host with him.
Arquette himself was a substitute with Nielsen on the morning show last week. This week, Scott Seeger is co-hosting with Nielsen. Ironically, Seeger is married to Dickson.
