Jazz memory: May 8, 1992; Game 2 Western Conference semifinals. Malone scored a game-high 33 points to lead the Jazz past Seattle 103-97 in the Delta Center. Malone netted Utah's last six points as the Jazz held off the Sonics. Utah went on to win the series 4-1 and advance to the Western Conference finals for the first time.
"That was great. It was the farthest I got in my career," said Malone. "That was a fun, great series to be able to get in there with Portland." Malone still follows the Jazz and called John Stockton to congratulate him on his series-clinching shot against Houston that sent Utah to its first NBA Finals.
