The Sammy Hagar concert that was to be Thursday at Saltair has been canceled due to illness. There will be no rescheduled date. Ticket refunds are available at points of purchase.

Hagar has bronchitis, said Teresa Mooney of United Concerts. The singer was on tour promoting his "Marching To Mars" solo album. In 1986, Hagar, who was also a singer in Montrose, replaced David Lee Roth as the lead singer of Van Halen. He left the band early this year because of artistic differences.

Before joining Van Halen, Hagar made his mark as a solo artist with such hits as "One Way to Rock," "I Can't Drive 55" and "Heavy Metal." The definitive Hagar solo albums include "Standing Hampton" and "VOA."
