Surgeons removed a cancerous eye from the 3-month-old daughter of actress Hunter Tylo, but the baby will still need chemotherapy to treat tumors behind the remaining eye, her manager said.

Katya, who was born Jan. 15 with retinal blastoma, underwent a 90-minute operation Friday to remove her right eye at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles and later went home with her parents."That basically saved her life," said Marv Dauer, Tylo's manager. "There's no way she could have lived without (the surgery)."

The mother, 34, won $4.9 million judgment in December after she was fired from the prime-time soap opera "Melrose Place" for becoming pregnant with Izabella, her third child. She testified at her trial while pregnant with Katya.
