Robert Bennion Arnold, 58, son, brother, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away suddenly Wednesday, February 10, 1999.

Born September 6, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Everett Sorensen and Jasmine Bennion Arnold. Married Gwenda Wells June 26, 1964 in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from Cyprus High School. Received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Utah and his Master's degree from BYU. Faithful member of the LDS Church. Served a mission to Chile. Served as mission president to the Guatemala El Salvador Mission, also as a stake president of the Salt Lake Jordan Stake. Member of the Young Mens general board and currently serving as Bishop in the Jordan 1st Ward. Served on the Granite District Board of Education for nine years. He was employed by the Church Education System.Bob loved fishing, hunting, camping, sports and spending time with his family. Dedicated his whole life to the service of the Lord and to teaching and serving others. Few men have had such a profound righteous influence on everyone he came in contact with. He was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his family.

Survived by his wife, Gwenda, and his five children, Lori (Tracy) Millward, Twin Falls, ID; Elaine, Read (Jennifer) Arnold, Taylorsville; Bryant (Jennifer) Arnold, Salt Lake City; Rebecca (Jeremy) Winget, Taylorsville; three grandchildren, Alex, Abbigayle and Rachel; mother, Jasmine; brothers and sisters, John (Jeanne), Paul (Claudia), Elizabeth (Harold) Mills, Phillip, Mary (Larry) Hill and Mervyn (Devonna).

Dad, our lives will forever be touched by your love, example and friendship. You will be missed more than you know. Thanks, we love you.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 1999, 12 noon at the Salt Lake Jordan Stake Center, 3700 West 4700 South. Friends may call Friday, 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood and Saturday at the church, 10:30-11:40 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
