NEPHI (AP) -- A man who was serving time in a Florida prison has been arraigned on a capital murder charge for the death of his wife nearly eight years ago.

Howell Williams was extradited to Utah last week after the Juab County Sheriff's Office identified the body of a woman found off I-15 as Barbara K. Williams. In March 1991, deputy Justin Kimball and Sheriff Dave Carter discovered the woman's body outside of Mills, which is 88 miles south of Salt Lake City. Williams had apparently died of a gunshot wound.

But her body was not identified until recently, after a policeman in Florida entered information about a missing woman there into the National Crime Information Center.

Juab County authorities matched the fingerprints of the missing Florida woman to those of the dead woman and issued a warrant for the arrest of Howell Williams, who was serving time in the Charlotte Correctional Facility.
