Pro Golf Discount , 308 West 7200 South, Midvale, said Friday that majority ownership in the business has been sold to retired banker John R. Hanson for an undisclosed amount.
Company founder Jerry Marchino said Hanson will bring "strong customer service and business skills" to the company.Hanson said Marchino will stay on board to "teach me the ropes" as will Pete McNeil, a Pro Golf partner who also has increased his stock ownership in the business and has been named vice president and general manager.
Hanson also has bought the franchise rights for a Pro Golf store in St. George, which he said has great potential for the recreation industry.
