Jack, the Komodo dragon, is going home to Miami.
The rare reptile, who has been at Hogle Zoo since May, will be on display through Sunday, Sept. 19, and will be returned to his home at the Miami Metrozoo on Wednesday, Sept. 22.Known for his lethal saliva, the 7 1/2-foot-long, 150-pound monitor lizard with a foot-long, yellow-forked tongue will be returned to a group of 27 hatchlings that he sired in September 1998.
Gate hours at Hogle Zoo are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Admission prices are $6 for adults (ages 13-64), $4 for children (ages 3-12) with senior citizens and children 2 and under being admitted free.
