Stacey Hale Haglund, 43, died of ovarian cancer Saturday, May 27, 2000, at her Salt Lake City home in her husband's arms.

Stacey was born Feb. 10, 1957, in Salt Lake City to Robert L. and Ruth Elaine Hale. She married Roger Benson Haglund, Sept. 19, 1980. She attended Cotton-wood High School and graduated in 1984 from the Uni-versity of Utah, where she also earned her masters degree in special education in 1990. Stacey spent her life working with children, beginning at the Jewish Community Center while in college. She worked at the Children's Behavioral Therapy Unit before joining the Granite School District's Head Start program. Stacey helped countless parents come to terms with their children's behavioral issues, and she had a particular expertise with autism. She had a loving concern for all children, as evidenced by her life's work. Her first priority has always been her family; Benson and Olivia are the light of her life. Stacy and Roger have a love affair that started the day they met and will span the eternities.Survived by her husband; two children, Benson Hale Haglund, Olivia Grace Haglund, Salt Lake City; parents, Robert L. and Ruth Elaine Hale, Kanab; sister, Cynthia Hale, Salt Lake City; brothers, Bruce (Kerri) Hale, West Valley City, Jordan (Misty) Hale, Sandy; grandmother, Helen Harker, West Valley City; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and in-laws.

Services will be 12 noon Thurs. June 1, Cottonwood Stake Center, 1830 E. 6400 S. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Wed. 6 to 8 p.m. and Thurs.11 a.m. to 12 noon prior to services. Burial, Murray City Cemetery.
