Our beloved father, Harold Kline Beecher, passed away August 10, 2000.

Born to Harold Kline Beecher and Ethel Bullock Beecher Nov 14, 1912 in Pottsville, PA. He became a member of the LDS Church April 15, 1936 and married Margaret Smith Aug 15, 1936. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple a year later. Harold and Margaret were very active in the LDS Church in Capitol Hill Ward (scoutmaster to Troop 81), Garden Park Ward and especially Parley's First Ward which they considered their home forever.

He graduated from the college of Architecture at the University of Michigan in 1935. Some of the many buildings designed by Harold K. Beecher and Associates, as well as his collaboration with other architects, include the Washington D.C. LDS Temple, the Marriott Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City, the Kimball Tower at BYU, The Missionary Training Center at BYU, Woods Cross High, Muir Elementary, and the former Salt Palace and Metropolitan Hall of Justice.

He was a member of Bonneville Kiwanis for 26 years and a member of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. He was a licensed architect in over 20 states. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret; and brother, John W. Beecher.

Survived by his daughters, Jane B. Yeates, Allyson B. Smith (Larry), Salt Lake City; sister, Carol Hager, Seattle; sister-in-law, Ouillma Beecher, Richmond, VA; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

We wish to thank everyone at Wasatch Valley Rehabilitation Center who helped us care for him during these last few weeks.

Services will be 12 noon Tues. Aug 15, at Parley's LDS First Ward, 2350 S. 2100 E, Salt Lake City. Friends may call 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Larkin Mortuary.
