The father of supermodel Niki Taylor's 6-year-old twin sons is trying to help them understand the serious injuries their mother suffered in a car accident a month ago.
"I got a book of anatomy and showed them where mommy got hurt," Matt Martinez told People magazine for its June 6 issue. "They were a little curious, but they're not asking a lot of questions."
Martinez, a stuntman, actor and model who was married to Taylor from 1994-96, said he hasn't taken the boys to the Atlanta hospital where she is being treated. Taylor, 26, suffered severe liver damage and has undergone at least four surgeries.
"It's so chaotic, with the press and everything," said Martinez, who is caring for the boys at his home in Plantation, Fla.
Taylor, 26, was injured in the early morning of April 29 when the car her friend was driving hit a utility pole. The driver, 27-year-old James "Chad" Renegar, told police he reached down to answer his cell phone and lost control.
