Media Partners Publishing announced two staff additions. Claire Wiley was named advertising director. She will oversee advertising for MPP's five magazines and supervise special events and direct marketing. Wiley is a former radio promotions director and television news reporter. Miranda Barnard was named vice president of marketing and communication. She supervises all marketing and public relations efforts and special events. Barnard previously worked as a public relations supervisor at a Salt Lake agency.
Zions Bank Su Banco has hired Judy Martinez as a vice president and branch manager over its soon-to-be-announced bilingual branch in Ogden. Martinez has more than 20 years of banking experience, serving most recently as branch manager for another bank.
The Salt Lake law firm of Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough announced the addition of two attorneys. Lori Nelson will join the firm's family law litigation and government affairs groups. She has extensive experience in domestic and family law and is a certified mediator on the Court Roster for Mediation to cases dealing with family law. George G. Ventura joined the firm's international law practice group. He has extensive experience in multinational corporate contracts and has prepared and copyrighted emergency response plans for hazardous substances in various Latin American countries.
Sam Sampson, a 25-year veteran Realtor, has been appointed to the Utah Real Estate Commission. The St. George-based Realtor has served as president of the Washington County Board of Realtors and president of the Utah Association of Realtors. His term on the Utah Real Estate Commission will last four years.
Dr. Anna Beck has joined Community Nursing Services Home Health & Hospice as hospice medical director. Beck is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine and completed her internship and residency at the University of Utah Medical Center, with a combined fellowship in hematology, medical oncology and geriatric internal medicine. She has 13 years of experience in the field.
XanGo, a Lehi-based nutritional supplement company, announced several staff promotions. Kent Wood, a XanGo founding partner, was promoted to chief operating officer. He will oversee the company's general finance, accounting, quality assurance and information technology departments. Nate Brown was promoted to chief financial officer. Brown will oversee the finance and accounting departments. He previously served as vice president of finance. Leslie A. Gallacher was promoted to special adviser to the president. She will act as a liaison between the president's office and other divisions of the company and will coordinate and advise executive management on strategic initiatives. She previously served as director and associate general counsel. Travis Ogden was promoted to senior manager and regional controller. Prior to joining XanGo, Ogden worked for two of the largest public accounting firms in the country. He received his MBA from the U.
Erica Dahl was named director of community relations for Intermountain Health Care's Salt Lake Valley hospitals. She will oversee community relations activities for Alta View Hospital, Cottonwood Hospital, LDS Hospital, TOSH and the new Intermountain Medical Center, which is scheduled to open in 2007. Most recently, Dahl worked for a Utah-based nonprofit organization. She is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and Georgetown University.
Brent L. Scott was named chief executive officer of Stephen's Gourmet Hot Cocoa. The Clearfield-based company sells beverages such as cocoa, cider and wassail. Prior to joining Stephen's, Scott was executive vice president of a company in Golden, Colo. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University.
Dr. Howard S. Richter has joined the IHC Physician Group, opening his orthopedic practice at McKay-Dee Hospital's Calton-Harrison Clinic in Ogden. Richter specializes in fracture care, post-traumatic reconstructive surgery and treating acute orthopedic injuries. He is a graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and completed his general and orthopedic surgery internships at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital.

American Fork-based Certiport has appointed Marie Taylor as executive vice president over the company's Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Taylor has more than 10 years of information technology experience. Most recently, she served as education group manager at the United Kingdom division of a major software company.
Bank of American Fork, a subsidiary of People's Utah Bancorp, has named Bruce Gunther as vice president of business development. Gunther will be responsible for research and business development, creating the bank's retention and private banking programs. He joined the bank in 1997 as business development representative.
